Mocha the Menace

Stuff the Cat Has Eaten (that he shouldn’t)
Whole wheat bread
Store-brand oreo cookie
Honey-wheat bagel
Marshmallow Mateys
Granola
Oatmeal banana cookies

Last night was the most recent in a string of carbohydrate binges, stealthily carried out in the dark of night by our cat. It was partially our fault for forgetting Mocha's penchant for baked goods. We left a plate of cookies on the counter, covered in plastic wrap. Jason was the lucky one to discover the mess this morning.

Mocha has never torn through more than plastic wrap, but I'm afraid he'll turn into something like the psychotic squirrels at my friend Christi's house, that chewed through tupperware to get at some cookies. Bread items really seem to bring out some kind of obsession in him. Clearly we can't keep anything on the counter anymore!

This is exactly the kind of thing that I find hilarious and annoying at the same time. I like having a cat that does weird stuff like playing fetch, falling off the bed, and eating cookies. Jason maybe doesn't appreciate it quite as much. ;-)

Happy Halloween!

So, I saw this costume at Target, and I had to have it. But of course, I didn't buy it the first time I saw it, so after much searching I am happy to say that it was found once again, and Mocha dressed up as a rooster for Halloween. The first time I put his costume on him, I just laughed at him for a good five minutes. SO funny!

I'd also like to make the disclaimer that as ticked off as he looks in these photos, the cat actually didn't mind dressing up! He was more angry at having to sit on our laps and pose. After the photo shoot, he happily wore his costume for another 10 minutes before I took it off.

Who knew cats liked bagels?

I was blissfully unaware of this fact until this morning. Apparently the new package of Sarah Lee bagels sitting on the counter was too tempting for Mocha. With what (judging by the shredded plastic) must have been a zeal for bagels unmatched by any human, he tore open the package with his teeth, took out a bagel, and ate part of it while strewing bits of bagel all over the living room. He also gnawed on a second bagel, but left the rest in the package in case someone else wanted the other half.

Jason was the unfortunate soul to discover the mess this morning. Oh, the wonder of cats.

In other news, it was my birthday this weekend!! My wonderful husband planned out the whole day, which included excellent homemade pizza and Pepsi for lunch, and then a surprise trip to the spa for me! I had a full-body massage, seaweed facial, and manicure. SOOOOO nice. My favorite was the facial – having someone else put all kinds of nice-smelling creams, cleansers, etc. on your face, while massaging it, is just GREAT. We snacked on some excellent cheese, and later went to dinner at Figlio in Uptown. It was a very nice birthday. We also had dinner with Mom this weekend, and got to relax/catch up on sleep, AND got four loads of laundry done! Can’t beat that!
